This car is a Jaguar XK140 Drophead Coupé with overdrive and SE specification. The car has matching numbers and matching colours. All badges are present.
In the USA, the car had only 2 owners and most recently in Germany, a one-day registration with German papers. The first owner had the car for about 45 years, from 1956 to 2001, the second owner from August 2001 to 2014.
The mileage of approx. 72000 miles is original.
The engine and gearbox have never had to be removed and opened. Modifications and rebuilds were spared this almost unique specimen. It is unrestored and is in exceptionally beautiful condition.
According to an XK expert I know, there is only one other vehicle in Switzerland that is in a similarly authentic condition with a very beautiful patina.
The paintwork is mostly original. The interior fittings, such as leather, carpets and wood are just about perfectly patinated.
It is an intact car that is technically in very good condition, runs reliably and can be moved safely. After most XKs have now been restored and more or less original substance has been destroyed, vehicles like this Jaguar are an absolute rarity.
An interesting XK140 that shows its age, but has neither rot nor a sterile -better than new- look.
A few traces of the past enhance the character of such a classic.
